I've Joined the Twitterati

After much kicking and screaming, I've given in and am now tweeting voraciously, so please feel free to join me and follow my every waking move @LoriPerkinsRR. You'll know when I get up and when I go to sleep, and what I've had for dinner and what I watch on TV. Nothing is sacred.

It's an amazing social networking world.

Its funny. I've been on Facebook for over a year, and on Twitter for less than a week, and they are very different mediums.

I love Facebook, because it's like short articles, you can attach websites with a brief photo, and my "friends" bios are so much more insightful. It's also much easier to find people by their real names on Facebook. And I like the comment and "like" features of Facebook to comment on something one of my friends wrote. There's no way to do that on Twitter - you have to retweet.

Twitter is great for fast news, notes and ideas, as well as reactions to news, notes and ideas. It's like a constant IM conversation with the people I want to hear from.

But all this social networking leaves me even less time to blog.

And I haven't written in my journal in weeks.

I joined Twitter a few months ago, but I don't really care about what other people ate for breakfast, so I don't tell what _I_ had. Makess for a really thin Twitter-stream. :(

I do use it a little more to follow other people though.

You're going to love twitter. I've been on it since it started. The news feeds are excellent and it's fast. And don't forget to re-tweet. I re-tweet everyone I think is important. You'd be surprised at how many people you get to know through re-tweeting.

I resisted Twitter for a long time, but when I finally signed up I became addicted. It's too much fun and also a great low-pressure networking tool.

My son adjusted my settings so my tweets go directly to my Facebook page, including links to my blog updates (which I have been neglecting lately). I just have to make sure I don't make fun of my family!

I love Facebook and Twitter. I "make the rounds" daily and still manage to get to my blogs and other peoples blogs. I am a junkie!

I had fallen behind on blogs, and have spent the day catching up. Glad I did. Following you now!

That always sounds so stalkerish like.
